Occupied Balochistan: Five more decomposed, mutilated and bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons, including a teacher, were found from Panjgur, Khuzdar and the Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Wednesday ending the mysteries of their families who have been on hunger strike for months in Islamabad, Karachi and Quetta. As many as 149 dead bodies of Baloch missing persons or political opponents had so far been found for the past nine months. Panjgur police recovered three decomposed and mutilated bodies dumped in ditch near a seasonal river.

“Some labourers were working near the seasonal river known Padran and spotted one the mutilated bodies and the shoes of two others. They informed the residents of the area and the local authorities. People rushed to scene and found another two bodies in a ditch – mass grave,” said local sources. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital where the relative have identified them as Agha Abid Shah, a former Vice chairman of BSO (Baloch Student Organisation), Master Abdul Sattar, a government teacher, and Safeer Baloch who were whisked away on 15 August last year from a hospital in Panjgour town area of Balochistan.

“It seems that the three persons were killed more than a month ago and their bodies were dumped in a desolated place of Panjgur,” an official said. However, family members had identified their beloved ones through remains and traditional Balochi shoes. The family members said that the security forces had abducted three people away. “We also lodged FIR against the security forces,” one of the relatives said.

Another body was found near Eastern Bypass area of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Wednesday noon that had later been identified as Tadiq Karim Baloch Hospitals sources said he was shot in head and chest and his body bore marks of tortures. Karim, an activist of the BSO- Azad who was whisked away by the Pakistani intelligence agencies from Al-Rauf Royal City, Block 19, Flat no# C-614 on October 21 last year in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi along with two other friends. It is worth recalling that previously the Pakistani forces killed the Tariq Karim’s younger brother Asim Kareem in custody and his bullet riddled body was found on 31st October 2010, he was also a member of BSO-Azaad.

The body of another Baloch missing person was recovered Sultanabad area of Khuzdar district, some 300-kilometer off Quetta. The victim was identified as Mohammad Jan who was listed as missing in the month of April last. However, the case of Mohammad Jan was not registered despite the lapse of a month. “His family had few days earlier joined the hunger strike camp outside the Quetta Press Club set up by relatives of Baloch missing persons,” said Nasarullah Baloch, Chairman of Voice for Baloch missing persons.

He said that all the five people whose bodies had been recovered were on the list of missing persons and their relatives held security forces and security agencies responsible for illegal detention and killing in official custody. Mr. Nasarullah said the family members of all the five victims have been observing hunger strike since the enforced disappearance of their loved ones. “We set up hunger strike camps in Islamabad and Karachi with no result. Now we can only wait for more bodies since all the institutions whether it is judiciary, the Government or human rights commission in Pakistan had failed to trace out a single Baloch missing person,” he added.

“The victims had direct or indirect affiliation with Baloch nationalist Political parties. Therefore, they were targeted. All we want only to produce the missing persons to courts ending their illegal detention and at wrongful places of detention,” he added. Nasarullah Baloch demanded that International Humanitarian Organizations should intervene in this grave humanitarian issue and play their due role to stop the violation of human rights by the state functionaries.
